PITTSBURGH – (June 4, 2018) — Compassionate Certification Centers™, a national medical cannabis healthcare network, will host a public ribbon cutting ceremony for its sixth office location in Natrona Heights at 9 a.m., Thursday, June 7, at 2130 Freeport Road, Suite A, in Natrona Heights, Pennsylvania.
The ceremony will be presided over by Compassionate Certification Centers’ co-founders, CMO Dr. Bryan Doner and CEO Melonie Kotchey. State official Charles Dizard of Harrison Township’s Board of Commissioners will attend and Bill McElligott for Rep. Frank Dermody, who serves Allegheny County.
Natrona Heights has a population of over 11,000 people and is located less than an hour from Pittsburgh. Dr. Randall Barrett, DO, dual board-certified Anesthesiologist and Pain Management physician, will oversee the office. Barrett is the acting director of the The Pain Management Centers at Armstrong County Memorial Hospital and Clarion Hospital. He has more than 25 years of diverse experience treating acute, chronic and cancer pain in Western Pennsylvania.
“For years we were left with few treatment options for pain management other than opioids. With the opioid epidemic now facing us, medical cannabis could not have come along at a better time,” stated Dr. Barrett.
Currently, 35,000 patients are registered for Pennsylvania’s medical cannabis program, with an estimated 200,000 patients who qualify. The fifth-largest state in the country, Pennsylvania dispensary sales has the potential to exceed $100 million annually in the next few years.
