NATRONA HEIGHTS, PA – A new medical marijuana facility will open its doors Thursday in Allegheny County.

Compassionate Certification Centers held a ribbon-cutting at its new facility along Freeport Road in Natrona Heights.

The office will provide medical marijuana certifications and evaluations for patients looking to use medical marijuana.

It will also provide guidance and continued treatment care.

More than 35,000 Pennsylvania residents have already registered for the program.

Eligible patients must be diagnosed with one of the state’s 17 qualifying medical conditions.

“Our physicians, our nurses, our staff, they’ve been trained on medical cannabis and our organization has really been set up to support patients as well as the programs in different states,” Dr. Bryan Doner said.

For years, 16-year-old Vincent would suffer 32 seizures a month. A marijuana derivative has cut his seizures in half. His family is ecstatic to have a new type of treatment center nearby.

“We’re just really excited to get started and hopefully help him and everyone else because it affects your whole family,” Rachelle Beavers said.

This facility is the sixth to open in Pennsylvania.
