With our first speaker series, Quality Gardens aims to educate the community on a variety of topics, and to support the charitable efforts of local organizations.

Quality Gardens is award-winning for our knowledge of plants, and is looking forward to bringing interesting and intriguing speakers to our glass house, for the enjoyment of all who attend.

As the healthcare industry gets more complicated, as the opioid epidemic continues, and as the information on the internet gets more confusing, we thought that medical marijuana would be an interesting topic for the community.

Our energetic speakers from the medical marijuana industry are looking forward to sharing valubable and intriguing information with our guests! They will be sharing general information from their specific fields, and they will answer questions from the attendees. Come prepared to be educated about the benefits of medical marijuana, and the numerous considerations that legal marijuana brings to Pennsylvania.

Dr. Bryan Doner

Dr. Doner is a resident of Mars and is looking forward to sharing his extensive knowledge on the topic of medical marijuana. He is the CEO and Co-Founder of Compassionate Certification Centers, President/CEO of D&P Medical Group, as well as the Medical Co-Director of the Wound & Hyperbaric Center, Medical Director of the Primary Stroke Center, and attending Emergency Physician at Armstrong County Memorial Hospital. In addition to Emergency Medicine, Dr. Doner has undergone extensive, fellowship level training in both Wound Care and Hyperbaric Medicine. He is board certified in Emergency Medicine, a Certified Hyperbaric & Wound Care Specialist (CHWS) by the American Board of Wound Healing, and a Fellow of the American Professional Wound Care Association (FAPWCA). Through Compassionate Certification Centers, Bryan offers educational resources and assistance to patients by providing comprehensive medical cannabis certifications to those who qualify as well as a cannabis diagnostic tool and EMR system.

Diana Briggs

Dianna Briggs is the Founder/CEO of PA Compassionate Caregivers LLC, a group of Medical Cannabis Advocates and Caregivers that are committed to connecting patients, caregivers, doctors, and the medical cannabis industry. Diana is also a founding member and former Director of Campaign For Compassion a grassroots advocacy group that was instrumental in the passage of Act 16.Campaign For Compassion received a national award from Americans for Safe Access for their lobbying efforts. Diana currently resides in Export with her husband Mike and three children. Her son Ryan suffers from Intractable Epilepsy and is the reason for her Advocacy.

A portion of event proceeds benefit MHY Family Services. MHY Family Services serves youth and families by providing them the opportunity to learn skills that help them manage and cope with trauma-based issues and to re-engage with home, school and community. This event will benefit MHY’s drug abuse prevention and education programs for youth and families.

This speaker series will consist of three topics, all related to plants. The first session was about honeybees, and the next session is to be determined and is scheduled for March of 2019. Possible topics include gourmet cooking with fresh ingredients, and beer brewing.
