Pennsylvania MMJ patients could wait weeks or months for an appointment when the state’s program commences in 2018.

Pennsylvania’s medical marijuana program is expected to be fully implemented in early 2018. Prospective patients are encouraged to take action early. Potentially tens of thousands of patients will be seeking their medical card once the program is underway. Patients who wait until 2018 may have to wait weeks or months for an appointment. (See instructions below on how to get on the early bird waiting list and beat the rush.)

The Pennsylvania program allows legal access to medical cannabis to residents suffering from 17 medical conditions. Patients approved for a card will be allowed to purchase a 30-day supply of cannabis-infused pills, oils, topical ointments, tinctures or liquids. The PA program prohibits the use of smokable cannabis products as well as edibles (cannabis-infused food items such as baked goods and candies).
